no .srt subs? I'm new to the encode recode but want to post my stuff from scratch like dvd to xvid or mkv with srt or idx all I have done is whole dvd's on usenet.

The ripper gives you both the .idx and .sub files, both need to go together with your rip and work well with Xvid or mkv file. Actually it has better timeing and Sync.
