Sassy girl Jeon Ji Hyun finally breaks her two-year silence, making her long-awaited celluloid comeback in A Man Who Was Superman, a romantic comedy helmed by Jeong Yun Cheol (Marathon). Boldly renouncing the beloved wholesome image her fans have long been accustomed to, Jeon plays a chainsmoking, tomboyish documentary filmmaker who falls in love with a mentally challenged man who believes himself to be Superman.

The unlikely superhero is deliciously portrayed by Chungmuro's new leading man Hwang Jung Min (Happiness, You Are My Sunshine). Like Superman, Hwang wears the big letter S on his chest and the trademark S-shaped spit curl on his forehead. Some scenes from the original Superman movie are spoofed in the film with Jeon and Hwang appearing as Lois and Clark, offering a nostalgic moment for many who grew up watching the comic book superhero come alive on screen. Despite director Jeong's failed effort to feature the actual Superman theme song in his picture (largely due to a high royalty fee), A Man Who Was Superman nevertheless makes a stunning entrance like no other.

After three years of making one sappy human documentary after another, filmmaker Song Su Jung (Jeon Ji Hyun) is at her wit's end. Hoping for a refreshing change, she signs up for an African safari shoot only to see it get axed. Adding to her misery, someone mugs her precious camera. "Help! A thief!" Hearing the damsel's cry, a man (Hwang Jung Min) wearing a Hawaiian shirt runs after the thief and retreives the camera. The mystery hero then explains to Su Jung in detail about how he could not use his usual supernatural powers because Mr. Evil has implanted Kryptonite in his head. Yes, the man is Superman, or more precisely, a self-professed Superman - nonetheless, a newsworthy subject! Su Jung follows him around shooting his daily activities, which consist of frivolous - but in small degrees, heroic acts, such as finding lost pets and performing handstands in an attempt to distance the Earth from the Sun to prevent the North Pole from melting. Then one day, the man injures his head and Su Jung takes him to the hospital where she discovers that her superman does indeed, have something in his head.

Plot:

Gangsters Chiang and Mr. Chow meet at a VIP Club, and discuss fleeing to Vietnam. As soon as Chiang leaves, he meets one of the pirates and they laugh about sabotaging the Marine Police ships. In the course of the conversation, the pirate tells him that his boss, San-po (Dick Wei), wants 100 police rifles.

Directed by Taylor Wong (The Three Swordsmen), wistful 1984 romance Behind the Yellow Line is an early and memorable effort from Hong Kong superstars Leslie Cheung, Maggie Cheung, and Anita Mui. Only in their early 20s, Maggie Cheung and Anita Mui, who won Best Supporting Actress at the 4th Hong Kong Film Awards for her performance, were both newcomers at the time, and this film was an important stepping stone in their career. A gentle and photogenic drama about young love, chance encounters, and uncertain fate, Behind the Yellow Line is typical of 1980s romances in narrative and style, but it stands out as an affecting time capsule, capturing three of Hong Kong's greatest and most-loved stars at the prime of their youth.

On the way to his first day of work, young civil servant Paul (Leslie Cheung) encounters two very different women on the subway: girl-next-door Monica (Maggie Cheung) who recently ended a painful affair with a married man and the sassy and wealthy Anita (Anita Mui) who takes an immediate liking to Paul. Crossing paths everyday during their subway commute, Paul and Monica take the gradual steps from strangers to lovers. Anita, however, isn't about to give up on Paul so easily, and Monica wavers in the face of overtures from her ex-boyfriend, putting the young lovers' relationship on the rocks.

El recién nacido Moisés es recogido del río por la hija del faraón, Bithiah. Ella lo adopta y lo cría en la corte real. Cuando Moisés ya es mayor, se gana el aprecio del faraón Seti, hermano de Bithiah y de la princesa Nefertiti, lo que disgusta al hijo heredero del faraón, Ramsés. Pero Moisés un día descubre su origen hebreo y conoce a su verdadera familia, lo cual lo lleva a dejar su vida como príncipe y se vuelve esclavo.

Moisés salva de la muerte a otro esclavo, Josué, al asesinar al arquitecto Baka, y es expulsado de Egipto por el faraón Seti. Tiene que cruzar el desierto para llegar a tierras de los pastores de Madián, y se convierte en pastor y forma una familia con Séfora, la hija de Jetro quien es uno de los jeques de Madián.

Pero el deseo de Dios es que libere a los hebreos de la esclavitud, y un día llama a Moisés por medio de un matorral ardiendo y le revela su Santa Palabra. Moisés regresa a Egipto para pedir a Ramsés que libere a su pueblo, pero ante la negativa y terquedad del faraón, hace caer las 10 terribles plagas preparadas por Dios, ya que Ramsés no escucha razones. Solo la última plaga que involucra la muerte de los primogénitos de Egipto hace que Ramsés ceda.

Cuando los judíos en Egipto escuchan la revelación de Dios, Moisés guía a su pueblo hacia el desierto luego de la angustiante noche en la que el ángel de la muerte quitó la vida de los primogénitos de Egipto. Sin embargo, Ramsés es influenciado nuevamente por su mujer Nefertiti, endureciendo nuevamente su corazón y decide acabar con los hebreos. Pero el poder divino es muy grande y Ramsés pierde todo su ejército en el Mar Rojo al ser cubiertos por las aguas. Ramsés comprende entonces que el dios de Moisés y de los hebreos es Dios.

En las llanuras del Sinaí, Moisés asciende a la montaña sagrada para recibir los Diez Mandamientos que regirán la vida del pueblo de Israel recién liberado. Sin embargo, al ver que tarda 40 días y 40 noches en la montaña, los hebreos se desesperan y caen en la tentación de construir un becerro de oro al que adoran, provocando la ira de Moisés y la de Dios, que significa la condena del pueblo a vagar por el desierto durante 40 años.

Así, Moisés termina su vida en las llanuras de Moab al no haber obedecido a Dios en las aguas de la refriega, liderando a los hebreos liberados hacia una tierra prometida por Dios, y luego de dejar a Josué como su sucesor en las puertas del río Jordán muere en paz proclamando la libertad a toda la tierra y a los habitantes de ella.

Wong Chun-yeung directed this oddball Hong Kong crime comedy, which piles on the slapstick and weirdness in a distinctly Asian approach to humor which may not carry over well for those unaccustomed to its style. Moon Lee and Yukari Oshima star as a pair of squabbling crooks, May and Sim-lan, who fight so much that their boss, Che Hai, is at his wit's end. The second live-action series to spin-off of the hit science fiction series Stargate SG-1 was green-lighted a day after the announcement that Stargate Atlantis will be canceled after its fifth season run. Stargate Universe premiered with a two-hour movie and then went immediately to its new timeslot.

With the help of teenager mathematics prodigy Eli Wallace (David Blue), Dr. Nicholas Rush (Robert Carlyle) discovers what he believes is the secret to intergalactic travel using the Stargate's heretofore unlocked ninth chevron. However, when the base where the Stargate is kept comes under attack, Rush insists on using the Stargate to evacuate, disregarding the orders of commanding officer Colonel Everett Young (Louis Ferreira). Lt. Matthew Scott (Brian J. Smith) is the first officer through the wormhole, leading the military and civilian survivors through before the base is destroyed.

What awaits them on the other side is an unmanned automated starship named the Destiny, launched by the Ancients thousands of years ago at the height of their civilization as a portal to other galaxies.

Among the survivors is: Master Sergeant Tamara Johansen (Alaina Huffman), a field medic woefully underequipped to deal with the injuries they've suffered and the problems they encounter; Chloe Armstrong (Elyse Levesque), daughter and assistant to her dead father, Senator Armstrong; and Camille Wray, the IOA representative and human resources manager.

The Destiny lacks the power necessary to create a super-wormhole back to Earth. Although they can program the ship to stop at Stargates that the Ancients sent ahead, the automated systems cause the ship to depart twelve hours upon arrival. If someone is left behind, there is no way to go back for them, adding to the drama of encountering new races, enemies, and adventures, and finding a way to bolster their dwindling supplies. Their only contact with Earth is through a series of Ancient communication stones, but only Dr. Rush knows how to use them... and he intends to use the opportunity to the fullest to explore alien planets and discover Ancient technology, no matter what the cost.

Show Information

With the help of teenager mathematics prodigy Eli Wallace (David Blue), Dr. Nicholas Rush
(Robert Carlyle) discovers what he believes is the secret to intergalactic travel using the
Stargate's heretofore unlocked ninth chevron. However, when the base where the Stargate is
kept comes under attack, Rush insists on using the Stargate to evacuate, disregarding the
orders of commanding officer Colonel Everett Young (Louis Ferreira). Lt. Matthew Scott (Brian
J. Smith) is the first officer through the wormhole, leading the military and civilian survivors
through before the base is destroyed.

What awaits them on the other side is an unmanned automated starship named the Destiny, launched
by the Ancients thousands of years ago at the height of their civilization as a portal to other
galaxies.
